APacCHRIE 2022, an all virtual conference, will be hosted by the School of Hospitality and Service Management at Sunway University, with the theme "Creating Tourism Sustainably in Challenging Times". The theme of sustainability is highly relevant given the significant changes to the hospitality industry brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. National lockdowns and movement restrictions brought about by the pandemic have transformed the way things are being done. This compels us, individuals, academicians, researchers and practitioners, to reconsider our current theoretical applications and practices while being mindful about consumption and experiences that are sustainable to the environment and local communities.
